The Polar Pioneer was built in Finland in 1985 and was refurbished in 2000 in St Petersburg. This class of vessel has a fine reputation for polar expedition cruising, due to its strength, maneuverability and small number of cabins. It is not a luxury vessel as such, but this is a most popular ship for travel to the Polar regions.
Polar Pioneer has a spacious bridge, always open to us and the decks are ideal for viewing. The chefs are European, and the dining room is attended by Russian stewardesses.
Polar Pioneer provides comfortable accommodation for 56 passengers. The cabins have two lower berths ore one upper berth, a desk, washbasin, storage area, and a window. showers and toilets.
The Suites have a separate small bedroom with a three-quarter bed, an additional berth in the main room, a desk, window, video player and TV, and a private bathroom with toilet, washbasin and shower.
