The Aleksey Maryshev was built in 1990 in Finland, is modern and comfortable research vessel of the Hydrographic Institute of St. Petersburg. The ship is strongly built of steel with an ice-strengthened hull, perfect for the polar cruises.
Aleksey Maryshev is 66 metres long, with a breadth of 12.8 metres, and a draft of approximately 3.5 metres, and a displacement of 2,000 tonnes. Powered by two 1,700 horsepower diesel engines, she is capable of speeds of 14 knots and has a range of 70 days independent operation and is ISM certified.
The ship has 23 cabins for 46 passengers. All cabins are outside, mostly with two bunk beds and a compact bathroom. Some cabins have shared bathroom facilities. Superior cabins are larger and have a double bed and a single sofa-bed, sitting area, coffee and tea facilities and refrigerator.
